Surface Deformations Resulting from Abandoned Mining Excavations

چکیده

The occurrence of surface discontinuous deformations in post-mining areas is currently a significant and important problem, due to both the frequency their threat they pose public safety. This paper presents results research concerning possibility sinkhole formation abandoned mining excavations. For purpose assessing condition rock mass disturbed by existence numerous excavations, electrical resistivity tomography investigations were carried out for selected area where was undertaken past at shallow depths many underground workings accessing deposit exist. hazard also analysed theoretically with new original model based on solution A. Sałustowicz’s pressure arch theory.

A coupled flow-stress-damage model for groundwater outbursts from an underlying aquifer into mining excavations

Uncontrolled groundwater outbursts from underlying limestone aquifers into mining excavations present a significant safety challenge for underground coal mining in China. Although these mining hazards have been known for decades, the mechanism for groundwater outbursts remains elusive. A fully coupled flow-stress-damage model is presented to simulate the progressive development of fractures and...

Mixed Braid Group Actions from Deformations of Surface Singularities

We consider a set of toric Calabi–Yau varieties which arise as deformations of the small resolutions of type A surface singularities. By careful analysis of the heuristics of B-brane transport in the associated GLSMs, we predict the existence of a mixed braid group action on the derived category of each variety, and then prove that this action does indeed exist. This generalizes the braid group...

Core - mantle boundary deformations and J 2 variations resulting from the 2004 Sumatra earthquake

The deformation at the core-mantle boundary produced by the 2004 Sumatra earthquake is investigated by means of a semi-analytic theoretical model of global coseismic and postseismic deformation, predicting a millimetric coseismic perturbation over a large portion of the core-mantle boundary. Spectral features of such deformations are analysed and discussed. The time-dependent postseismic evolut...

The Goldbach conjecture resulting from global-local cuspidal representations and deformations of Galois representations

In the basic general frame of the Langlands global program, a local p -adic elliptic semimodule corresponding to a local (left) cuspidal form is constructed from it global equivalent covered by p roots. In the same context, global and local bilinear deformations of Galois representations inducing the invariance of their respective residue fields are introduced as well as global and local biline...

Resistance to and Accumulation of Heavy Metals by Actinobacteria Isolated from Abandoned Mining Areas

Accumulation of high concentrations of heavy metals in environments can cause many human health risks and serious ecological problems. Nowadays, bioremediation using microorganisms is receiving much attention due to their good performance. The aim of this work is to investigate heavy metals resistance and bioaccumulation potential of actinobacteria strains isolated from some abandoned mining ar...
